So Poison Idea is the 'special guest'? I can think of a million other bands I would rather see. I will be there. I will be the only guy with tattoos.

Fat Mike has a well established boner for old punk bands.

Yeah.  I have no interest in seeing any of the bands they're playing with, which is a bummer because usually NOFX tours with good bands.  I haven't bought a ticket yet, or have plans to, but I'll probably end up being there.

I have seen NOFX too many times to count. And this is by far the worst line up I have heard of. I remember seeing a 21 and over show at the Showbox(garden) with Swingin Utters. That was a GREAT show. Fat Mike made fun of my DK t-shirt. Is it just me, or is Fat Mike a douche?

Ever think you're the douche for wearing a DK shirt...

I wasnt calling him a douche for that. I just think he is a douche in general. He is a prime example of why we should all have day jobs and not bank on music to pay the bills. You will end up being 40 something, divorced, hooked on pills, and just plain ol' miserable.

His daughter is going to watch that show when she is older and watch her dad snort a big ol line of the green dragon and be proud of her pa. I have seen a ton of interviews that he has done with people. He is a jerk to his fans.

Punk rock dads... that's a whole different topic.  I'm just stoked to catch one of their shows again.  I missed them the last 2 times so its been probably 8 or 9 years I think...

I went to Spokane the last time they came through WA. But I mostly went to see TBR. But it will just be Fat Mike on stage telling jokes and saying stupid shit. Still my favorite band of all time though.

Fat Mike has fun with the shit ton of money he has.  If you were worth umteen million, you'd probably travel the world with your friends, doing a ton of drugs and whatever.  Most corporate dudes do the same thing, just not in an as public forum!

He might have been worth that much in the 90s...pre internet/free downloads of records... I doubt he has that kinda cheddar now. When bands on his label are touring from club- to -club playing in front of 100 people...Fats not the way it used to be.

In 2009, it took just $343,927 a year to be in the top 1% income earners in the US, and as of a couple weeks ago he's a self-proclaimed one percenter.  I imagine you pull in a lot of dough headlining festivals and playing sold out shows most every place you go.

I fully agree. But you have to CONSTANTLY tour (which would be cool if you dont have a family and youre 20 years old) and you would never see your family. Then you would eventually get divorced because your wife would get tired of being married to a man that refuses to grow up. I have looked up to a lot of old time punkers in my area but have lost ALL respect for ALL of them. I opened my eyes and realized that I am going to end up just like these clowns... 40 years old and divorcing my wife so I can chase my teenage fantasy of touring around and pretending I'm some kind of rock star. My problem was that I couldnt find a balance between music and family. Some shit happened that made me just say "fuck playing music...I need to grow up and be a good father/husband". I passed up a position at work that would have paid me an extra 20K a year. Know why? Cuz it was a swingshift position and i wasnt going to cancel shows that I had booked. I chose partying over good money to support my family. Good ol punk rock. I dont know how many people I have met that cant hold down jobs because they choose to tour rather than keep a good paying job. I have a buddy that lives with his grandparents at 33 years old. The guy is smart as hell. But he cant hold down a job. If he put HALF the effort into getting a good job as he does to be a punk, he would be a buhdrillionare!!!

What this town really needs is a Dropkick Murphys AND Nofx show... that would give me an erection in need of medical attention.

I will be the guy with tattoos and piercings with coloured hair. And a pair of 20-eye Docs.Poison Idea were awesome at the Funhouse,as they are better in pre-allages Satyricon or Funhouse sized venues. Their Neumos and Studio 7 shows were amazingly bad.I would rather see Schmidtaholics,Toe Tag,Deathlist 5,or All Bets On Death as a special guest. Or Zeke.

I know what you're saying, Ceej. That balance is had to find but it is there. I'm 47, i've been at my job for 27 years. I've got wife and kid and I play in a band. We dont tour. Everyone in my band has a family. We still make music but realize that there has to be limitations.

Just do strategically planned two week mini-tours whenever you get vacation time.  Two weeks east coast, two weeks left coast, two weeks canada, etc.  If you don't mind putting your kids to bed via skype for a handful of days, you might actually be able to squeeze a meeger bonus-income out of it!

15 years ago I saw NOFX at Paradise Lounge in San Fransisco for $6. Wonder if they still play medium sized venues(Paradise Lounge is smaller then the Warfield, but larger then Bottom Of The Hill)? Because I have seen them in Vancouver at a larger show and it wasn't especially impressive. Rancid,Green Day,Offspring, and amazingly enough ,Sublime are all bands that, like NOFX,I found interesting at mid-sized or smaller venues, but  I can't imagine paying $25 to see any of these bands. Is there a reason why bands traveling from the UK,such as Subhumans,The Exploited,Conflict,AntiNowhere League,The Business,The Restarts, and GBH charged les then $20 for their more recent shows while a punk band based in LA charges $25?

Not posting this because I am STILL pissed off about being kiced out of the Cannibal Corpse/Hatebreed show at the King Cat........just wondering why $25 is considered to be reasonable for a punk show?

I don't think it's unreasonable.  What IS unreasonable is the $5 price at MOST punk shows.  Inflation has hit everything besides the cost of punk shows and it sucks to try to stay afloat/fed/happy when you're not making gas money.
