Mickey here.

I pretty much only wear skirts or dresses (long whiny story).  I don't wear anything that can't go in the washer/dryer or will stain. I usually don't wear anything longer than knee length.  I have never been a fan of crowd-surfing since at metal shows that's how douchebags shifted the girls out of their way and to the back.  But I am a fan of thickish leggings or big socks when it's cold out.  I have a couple of "cargo" skirts that have assloads of pockets that button.  Also, don't wear anything that it's gonna break your heart if it gets a cigarette burn in it.  I know you can't smoke inside anymore, but, especially at the Galway, you still have run the smoker gauntlet outside to get in.

I do have one ankle length denim skirt I'll wear sometimes if it's really cold out, but it isn't particularly flowy around my ankles and I don't have to worry about anyone stepping on it.

If you are worried about flashing the crowd, bike shorts under your skirts are great.  Or thick tights.

Hit up Sonya the next time she's at a show. She is always wearing some crazy vintage 1950s dress (when she isn't in an ALL hoodie).
