Best Milkshake?

Prepare for what might be the longest, most drawn out NWfoodboard battles ever.

for me it's either Lunchbox Labs or Red Robin.

I only make my own milkshakes.  No one makes them like I like them.

I haven't had a milkshake in years, but I used to like Kidd Valley's peanut butter milkshake a lot.

Kid Valley and Red Mill make some fine milkshakes but the clear winner is ... Luna Park Cafe.

The best milkshake I've had in years was from Full Tilt using their Thai Ice Tea ice cream.

I was going to say Full Tilt also cus I make milkshakes myself there. Right now at the UD location you can choose between Cardamom, Mint Oreo, Milk Chocolate, Chocolate Chewy Core (w/ cookies made of cranberries, honey, coconut and nuts), Chocolate covered Cheetos flavor, Bourbon Maple Walnut, Lemon Chocolate, Chocolate Mint Oreo, Salted Caramel (BEST for shakes. Well, that or Horchata or Coffee Oreo, or Cookies 'n' Cream), Vanilla Bean, Lemon Marshmallow, Toasted Coconut(Vegan), Pina Colada(Vegan), and Peach Strawberry Sorbet(Vegan). We use coconut milk for the Vegan shakes and they're totally delicious.

Around these parts, Cold Stone makes a great cake batter/yellow cake shake.

As far as a locally owned joint, Bridger Ridge Ice Cream made a great shake.  They went out of business, though.

I like malts more.

I have an ice cream maker.  I need to figure out how to make cake batter ice cream.  I would be so fat then.

I think a malt is still counts as a milkshake, since the only difference is adding malted milk powder. It's just another flavor modifier, like adding fruit or something before you blend.

I am SO with you on that one. That one just may sit around the store for a while. Though when we have chocolate covered bacon and peanut butter ice cream it sells like crazy. Not that far off right?

Chris, bake a cake then throw the chunks into your ice cream. That's what Full Tilt does. Or just pour Funfetti mix into it.

Quite a bit different IMO. The Chocolate covered Cheetos doesn't have anything really appealing going for it at all. Fake cheese falvour and chocolate just don't sound like a good combination. Chocolate covered bacon and peanutbutter on the other hand is working the very classic sweet/savory/salty combo. which is always a winner in my book.

Bacon and ice cream seems a lot more normal to me than chocolate cover cheetos. I was at a small town diner this past weekend and even there they had a bacon sundae on the menu (actually it was the desert special of the day).

We have one too.  Definitely need to make some.

I think just mixing the cake mix and pouring it in the maker would work.  Maybe add some extra cream or milk.

Nope, you'll just end up with very cold cake mix. The idea is to make an ice cream that tastes like cake mix, not just frozen cake mix.

I'm probably gonna try making the ice cream, then during the final stages of churning, pour some batter in there.

Made a Coffee Oreo milkshake for Lukas 2 weeks ago and I think we can both attest to it being one of the best milkshakes in Seattle.

Yeah, it was pretty fucking delicious. The Thai Ice Tea one is still my favorite, though!
