The more I think about this, the more I actually agree with Ceej. I imagine most people on this board have put a certain amount of work into being a punk. No matter what else we like, we all have bands we've had to search out, records and shows and zines and whatever that have required work to find. There is no evidence that this girl has put in any of that work. I don't know, maybe she has, but if she did she apparently didn't think it was important enough to emphasize. She does seem to have put a lot of work into looking cute, though. That's her prerogative, and god knows there are more women who put all their energy into being cute than in doing anything else, but it doesn't necessarily command the same level of respect. She doesn't have to be punk as fuck, but coming in and expecting a free pass because she's cute has probably worked well for her in the past, and she had no reason to think it wouldn't work well here. Show up, looking cute and slightly vulnerable, have people like her because she's attractive, and become accepted despite not demonstrating any interest in punk music that you can't hear on the radio. So, Ceej called her on exactly what she was doing, and while it was tacky and inappropriate (and possibly completely unintentional), it wasn't necessarily the wrong call.
