I'm so glad I borrowed a jacket from wardrobe. I was wearing my favorite shirt that day haha.
I think I talked to you a bit there. I had the blue chelseahawk.

Yep, pretty sure I was standing next to you, but its hard to see your face in your profile pic, so I wasn't sure.

So if anyone is available today, they are massively hurting for extras at the Sunset tavern right now. Anyone not working or engaging in other legitimate activity should come out.

Hey! We are in dire need of extras for the punk rock show today! We are filming at the sunset tavern in Ballard. If you can come right now you'll definitely be up front!

Fuck yeah let's do this!!

I would have gone if this wasn't during the day, like most people I was at work.

It was from 11am - 11 pm.
Unlike most people I only work nights so I have lots of free time during the day. I went and it was a lot of waiting with out being told what you were waiting for. Wardrobe didn't have any issues with what I was wearing though and that was nice at least.

I'm really interested in if this wardrobe is doing this for copyrighting reasons....or if they have absolutely no clue....

It's copyrights. There was a girl there with a wonderful Smiths backpatch and they had to cover the name and faces of all the members with duct tape. The wardrobe girl was very thankful she was willing to do this and explained that just in case Morrissey sees the movie, catches his face in it and gets upset about it. They wanted to cover up my Pyrate Punx patch but when I explained that it was just a booking collective and that they would be stoked to be on camera, not mad, she said well if you're ok with it then I'm ok with it. And apparently there was no issue with my Puke 'n' Rally or Christy Roads patches.
Though I have to say that the members of the cast were dressed like total dorks. So I think there's a small combination of copyrights and just not getting it.

Yeah, its mostly copyrights. I was wearing a ramones shirt and they covered up the name and gave me a jacket.

Everything in a movie that's copyrighted (logos, products, images) needs written clearance to be used. When we were publishing Tablet we filled out the forms twice for movies, one was a Steven King one they filmed here. The scene was so quick and it was sitting on a table that no one would have caught the title, but they followed up on it with us anyway.

Oh man, I just logged into Seapunk and saw the huge debate with a couple of people thinking this movie is racist because they had a casting call for a character asking they be black, asian or hispanic. Seriously?

With regard to the actual punk show filmed yesterday: First, the mosh pit/crowd surfing bits seemed very real.  I don't know how it will look on film, but it felt realistic.  Second, I would listen to the main character's band's song in real life.  Which is good because I heard it 3874 times yesterday. It's maybe not quite pop punk, but it's a lot closer to that end of the spectrum than it is to the hardcore end of the spectrum.

Going back to the wardrobe thing, I think the majority of punks I know don't actually dress that distinctively, and that's the part they don't get.  I wear jeans and a band tee shirt every single day of my life.  Take away the band tee shirt, and I'm just an aging hipster chick with weird hair. Show me someone wearing bondage pants and I'll show you someone who spent too much money at Hot Topic.

I guess I'm racist then because I tried to help find punks that fit these characteristics....you wanna talk racist....how come there are no people that fit these types in the punk scene....Macho white males running things...that's why!!!

Quite honestly one of the dumbest discussions they've had on there in a while. And the girl who posted the casting call (a whole month ago) doesn't have anything to do with the movie. She runs a Mathew Lillard fan site and the thickest of thick skulls over there is demanding she get banned for being a racist? It's not even entertaining, it's just plain dumb.

Hey all,

I am so sorry that this is such late notice but these last couple of days have been absolutely nuts!!!!

We only have today and tomorrow left for shooting, and we are in need of extras for tonight. We will need about 75 extras!!!!.

This is another punk type thing. You will not actually be in a punk show you will be in the alley outside like you are getting ready to enter the show. So please dress in the most punk clothes that you can. The darker the better!!

We need you at 8pm and we will be filming until 5am, but we quite possibly could wrap early.

I also need about 20 extras for something that is not punk from 5pm until 8pm. If you can do that too that would be great.

You guys will go to crew parking and once you are there, there will be a shuttle to take you to set. The address for that is:
   5300 24th Ave NW
   Seattle, Wa 98107

Please let me know if you are going to come:)

Thank you so much

Apparently so!  I'm not familiar with Whiskey Tango (although I guess I am now) but five minutes on MySpace confirms it.

Kayla, I'm not going to be at this one tonight, but have fun.  They have been in the habit of ordering pizza for the extras, but they didn't provide much on Tuesday, so I don't know.

Well looks like I'm not getting to the shuttle location right at 8. Sure hope they're going to be shuttling people back and forth throughout the shoot.
