hola. A little while back I posted to seattlepunk.org about a movie being made about a overweight youth finding punk rock and how it saves his life. The initial filming we did was to get funding for the feature, which has now begun. Here is the video of what we shot last summer.

Well, Matthew has gotten funding for his movie and has started filming TODAY! Whiskey Tango has been given the honor of being the music for the band in the film and a couple of us even got "acting" parts as well. I was put in (semi)charge of getting extras out to the big rocking scene at the end, and this time is no different. There is a HUGE scene at the end with helicopters and a mass of people walking the through a parking garage. So, if you're interested in being in a movie, a feature length movie helmed by Matthew Lillard (Cereal Killer himself!) then take a look at this bit of info below. Thanks to all who came out before, and I hope to see you again.

Remember me? I handled extras for the short film FAT PUNK earlier this year. You may or may not have gotten word about this already, but Matthew Lillard's feature film FAT KID RULES THE WORLD is here and filming all July and the first few days of August, all around the Seattle/Puget Sound area! I'm doing social media for the film, and Sean Avichouser (or Avi) is handling all the extras. I've got a few pieces of info for you:

nope, and it doesn't say what they're looking for. I too am probably too old/not punk enough.

No one is too old or not punk looking enough. We all know it's not what you look like that makes you punk rock. I know it says newbie next to our name but we've been at this for over a decade. And we don't look punk, we just live it. So bring your mom and just have a good time. Because I guarantee we will be doing the same. Except the mom thing, ours are all still in Alaska.

You can understand the whole 'not punk' thing though. It is a movie....movies have a HUGE history of over embellishing things, expecially punk rock.

Extra hilarious: Going to Matthew Lillard's IMDB page and seeing that he's going to be in a movie called "The Descendants" and thinking "REALLY?! Extra street cred all around! Also, what an odd subject for a movie."

I was an extra in "Plain Clothes" and they asked me to turn my Misfits fiend club shirt inside out too. I was bummed because my skateboarding the in background during scenes all got clipped but there's a couple good shots of me acting goofy. The end scene was a carnival in the back of the school (filmed in Ballard on 65th). We would sit in a ferris wheel from 10pm-4am with a mannequin.. and well, it only took a little time before we started dangling them over the side or pretended to be humping them out of boredom.

This just makes me want to defy the wardrobe lady by sneaking something in. If they ask me back for the next "punk" scene," I am totally making my own shirt. Right now I'm thinking "Eat At Chef Wong's," "Bonus Cup," or "Kill The Poor." It'll be just like high school when the only band shirts I could afford were my dad's old undershirts and magic marker!

Magic marker+x-acto blade_safety pins was de rigeur in my time. God, we loved colored sharpies.
