I'm not too fond of this idea.  I mean, it really doesn't hurt anything, but why not focus your efforts on the new album.  With each release, they keep saying they're going back to their roots, but it never sounds that way.  Maybe, just maybe, them revisiting their older stuff will make the new album better.

Having never heard them I don't think I can go that far but then again, I can't even be bothered to look them up on myspace.

A band that's been together for a long time, scrambling like hell trying to figure out how to recapture some inspiration.

take a handful of Confucius quotes, string them together non-nonsensically then add a uninspired 3 chord NoFX ripoff guitar part.  Bingo!

First of all, I fucking LOVE Alkaline Trio.  Their new stuff is awesome no matter what anybody says (listen to Off The Map off of their new album and I dare you to say it sucks).

Second of all, did anybody even read the article?  They said they are recording everything with new instruments and new arrangements and stuff.  I think that sounds like a totally fun idea.  I would love to be in a band where I could screw around in the studio with keyboards or play ska versions of songs, or add in a rap for the bridge on a song I wrote and have people care.

I think if this is done correctly where they go crazy and do stuff off the wall this will be rad.

You guys are just stupid kids, maybe you should catch fire or hire a private eye to find out why you're all jacked up on green beers.

Their new stuff is so bad that maybe going back and playing actually good songs a more talented musicians would be good. But they will probably just ruin them.

After hearing clavicle totally pissed that i preordered it on vinyl. Didn't realize reimagined was code for acoustic.

Oh ok. Thought you were a Trio hater. I'm not very into it either. Original was better. The organ part in the chorus is really strange. I dunno, maybe the other songs will be better?

Really?

That is a missed opportunity to do something cool.
