I've definitely seen all those bands and if I was gonna get on a plane to see a show that plane better be landing in some place like New Orleans or San Francisco or Berlin or Chicago.

Totally, boston sucks

The reason why Insub Fest is especially cool for you is because you have been active on the message board related to the festival for years.  Isn't you band on their label too?  With all these festivals happening nowadays, I think the only one truly worth traveling for is Riot Fest.  They've been getting some big-name reunions and putting together some great lineups.  Chicago is also a world class city and is fun to visit with or without a punk show.

To a certain point this is true.  My old band being on that label is nothing good, I can tell you that much.  We were asked to play that fest years ago, and I was like cool, we're releasing our EP around then.  And they were like, we'll put it out!  Cool!  Except getting band copies was a pain in the ass, and getting paid, well, we still haven't really been paid all that we're supposed to.

Also, most of those bands VERY rarely make it out here.  Maybe once a year if we're lucky.

If I had to pick any of the festivals to go to I still think it would The Fest. Year after year Insubordination Fest looks awesome as well, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't seem as inclusive as The Fest. Especially with all the connections to those smarmy pricks on the pop-punk bored. It seems like you have to pander and kiss ass to that group a bit too much for my liking. I'd still like to go sometime and check it out, but I never seem to have the money. I'd also rather it be somewhere other than Baltimore, but I understand why it's there. Oh yeah, and fuck Boston!

Chaos in Tejas is the only fest that ever really looks worth it to me.

the fest in gainesville is too big. also, i dont like how its run.  basically you have to go to a venue of a band you wanna see way before they play or else you wont get to see them, since when they reach the venue's full capacity they dont let anymore people in.  a lot of people wind up waiting in line and never getting to see bands they wanna see.  its dumb.  at least at insub its all in one place and you get to see all the bands you want to see, well if they arent playing at relatively the same time on opposing stages.  i dont really even like fests because i dont like standing around for hours upon hours.  id rather just wait and see the bands when they tour through here, which most do.

But that's not a festival.  That's just a long show.
