UPDATE!! Sauce: 1, Redmond Cop:1
« on: March 06, 2010, 04:11:26 PM »

So I just spent the afternoon with some friends at the Redmond Marymoor Dog Park, had some rum and some tasty bud by lake Sammamish.  When I was on my way back home I had the windows down, blasting some ska music and I got pulled over for seemingly no reason.  The cop said she thought my dog was a person who wasn't wearing his seatbelt and that I was going 3 miles over the speed limit. Then she also commented on the "nice message I have wrote on my car"...this message says FUCK YOU keyed into my passanger side door that nobody would ever do themselves.  I asked her if she really thought I would key my own car and told her to use her brain and if she would key that into her own car.  I then told the cop her reasoning for pulling me over was a complete waste of both of our times and she got pissy with me threatening that she could give me a ticket.  I told her she had no good reason to give me a ticket and she started questioning some empty soda bottles in my car and that my car had a "weird smell " I told her the only smell was my dog and that she was displaying terrible police work and that I would expect that from a Bellevue or Woodenville cop but not here in my home town of Redmond and told her I had to get going because I have to take a shit.

I got off with a "warning"

I would like to thank 7 seasons and 2 feature films of TRAILER PARK BOYS for teaching me how to deal with bored bullshit police officers!  I would also like my dog for swimming today so that my car smelled more like wet dog than pot.

I figured I would be on the Redmond cops RADAR after that little encounter.  Heres todays run in with the law!

I was going to go flyer with grendel but my car was being totally janky.  I took it in for an oil change and some other stuff and walked my dog to the park and ride to catch the 545 over to Seattle.  They wouldn't let me on with my dog.  SO I walked over to lake samammish and channeled my spirit animal (red winged black bird) and let my dog swim in the lake and chase ducks.  I got a call saying my car was done so I went and picked it up.  Lit up a bowl and started home.  It wasn't long before I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop.  He was mean looking.  Since my car smelled like really fine herb that I didn't feel like getting arrested for I got out of the car with all my stuff before hand and lit a cigarette (I dont even smoke).

APPARENTLY I never changed my address with the licencing department and my plates expired at the end of February.  124 dollar ticket.

At least once again, I didn't get caught for herb! thank you karma for being on my side this time!

I'd say the score is more like Sauce 2 redmond (a narrow miss like that counts as a score), cop 0, washington state .5

They really didn't just let you off on a warning for that?!  That's rediculous - its still the beginning of March.  I could see if it was October.

If you got out of the car, you're lucky you didn't get a gun pulled on you.

What's there in Port Orchard besides a bunch of antique stores? Seriously, my family cabin is near there and I visit it fairly often. Stu from the Valentine Killers used to own and OK bar there, a bit fancy. The farmer's market is OK on Saturdays when it's sunny. But not a lot there. I've been meaning to check out the card room over the bowling alley for poker action.

And Sauce, take the ticket to court and bring proof you've now bought your tabs, they will reduce it in half or cancel it.

So the first police officer who pulled you over, didn't even ping you for plates? If they're going to bother you for 3 mph/dog seatbelting, but not tabs, it's clear it was a harassment. Bad cop, no doughnut.

I think people getting tickets is funny. Why? Because I'm a walker and am very unlikely to get a ticket. Never have driving either though. That and I'm an asshole...

The OneTen Lounge. Stu's brother Chris (who used to sing for the Tacoma band The Mexican Blackbirds) built the bar, Stu (who bartended and booked the Comet years ago) ran it, I think their parents were the main owners. We used to stop by there for drinks when we were in P.O. Met up their with P.O. pin up artist Krystoff there once before he moved away. It's swanky, but had a bit of a cool crowd given who was involved. But they sold like two years ago. And then Chris built and opened his own place. The Red Hot in Tacoma, the hot dog place with pinball and a bunch of rollergirls working there.
