Best Spot for a Folk Punk Show?
« on: September 29, 2009, 04:08:47 PM »

What do you guys think...I know the label would prefer a venue, but I can probably convince the band to play a house or artspace.

So....
Morgue?
Black Lodge?
GRN STRP?

I feel like Morgue gives you a DIY atmosphere in a venue style space.

Either the Morgue or the Black Lodge would be good if a venue is a must.

Of course, that's the one real farm left in Seattle city limits, I read an article on it recently. I end up going to a lot of neighboring towns buying arcade and pinball games. I'm always surprised at how many farms there are in cities less than 20 minutes out of Seattle pretty much all directions.

It was probably the article I posted about in my livejournal.

call me when you get good taste in music!

If that hasn't already happened, I doubt that it ever will. Although I don't imagine that I like anything that would be construed as folk-punk (unless for some weird reason we're counting the Violent Femmes), it was really just too easy/good of a joke not to make it. I wish nothing but the best for your show (provided that I don't have to hear it, wocka wocka....)

Pshaw.  Asian Man should get with the program.

If it has to be at least venue-like, I'd probably vote for The Morgue.  Or the Black Lodge, if that counts.

Yeah, if they're really a folk punk band they would play on the sidewalk with a hat out for tips.
