"Campfire Island is a radio show broadcasting on KAOS 89.3 FM (in Olympia, WA) every Saturday at 10pm to midnight (Pacific). We play punk music and music made by punks...
The KAOS signal reaches from the southern parts of Tacoma to the north part of Centrailia. So if you're otherwise out of that area, catch us on the Internet stream at
http://www.kaosradio.org/The radio show is named after Joe Strummer's last painting, which his friends received on a Christmas Card the day he died. For the full story, watch: "The Future is Unwritten: JOE STRUMMER" by Julian Temple.
Here is a snipit about Frankie B:
Frankie B - (aka Frank Barber), new to Olympia, but big on the East Coast! Frank used to live in Gainesville, FL - where he co-founded the non-profit record store Wayward Council among other ridiculousness. Twenty years of going to shows may have left him a little rattled, but it was his roommates in Palatka that gave him a short attention span. Since 2000, he's been on the run - Savannah, Chicago, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville - until resurfacing in the Pacific NW last year. Frank is also currently on the Board of the Olympia Film Society, which operates the Capitol Theater."
His playlists rule and he is a very community focused guy. In the last two Weekends he had Anchor Down (pdx) and Tubers (FL) stop in the show and hang out on air and play music.
